I've noticed that many food lists label avocado and olive oils as high in histamine since they're derived from high histamine foods. But let's take a closer look! 🌟

Histamine in food is formed when certain bacteria, carrying an enzyme called histidine decarboxylase (HDC), convert the amino acid histidine into histamine. This process relies on the presence of protein. However, guess what? Oils extracted from fruits and seeds have ZERO protein, making it nearly impossible for histamine to accumulate in these oils!

So go ahead and drizzle that delicious avocado and olive oil without worry! 🥑✨ Plus, did you know that olive oil is packed with incredible polyphenols? 🫒❤️

Did you know that omega-3 fatty acids are like superheroes for your immune system? They help keep inflammation in check, which means they can help manage histamine levels too! 🌈

However, if you're avoiding cold-water fish like salmon, sardines, and trout due to their histamine content, you might be missing out on these beneficial fatty acids. But no need to fret!

There are plenty of lower histamine options to boost your omega-3 intake. Think nuts, seeds, avocado oil, olive oil, walnut oil, flaxseeds, and even algae! 🥑

🌰 Out all of the tree nuts, walnuts are one of richest sources of omega-3 but can cause histamine reactions in some people BUT walnut oil is low histamine!

If you're considering supplements, look for EPA/DHA, as they're fantastic choices. Just remember to pick a high-quality fish oil because quality is key! My favorite is @bigboldhealth! 🐟💚

So, are you getting enough omega-3 in your diet? ✨

Did you know that a key factor in helping your body produce the DAO enzyme is ensuring you get enough vitamin C? This can be challenging if you're avoiding citrus fruits 🍊.

You might be considering taking vitamin C supplements, thinking that more is better. But it's important to note that while our bodies do eliminate excess vitamin C, too much can lead to negative effects. It can increase the production of oxalates and interfere with the body's natural antioxidant production, like glutathione. 😕

Want to learn more about how these factors can trigger histamine intolerance symptoms? Check out my latest blog post on the Top 7 Wellness Boosters! 💪

I wish there was an easy way to test for histamine intolerance, but unfortunately, that isn't the case! The best approach to understanding how your diet affects your symptoms is to keep track of what you eat and how you feel.

I know it can be a bit tedious, but you might discover that your issues aren't due to histamine intolerance at all. You could have sensitivities to other foods, like those high in FODMAPs! 🌱

Remember, histamine is involved in so many bodily functions. Factors like stress, hormones (for the ladies), and exercise can all influence your histamine levels too! 🧘‍♀️

I used to jump from one supplement to another, trying to find relief for my histamine intolerance! At first, I’d feel some improvement, but then my symptoms would flare up again, and my headaches and insomnia became more frequent. 😩

Then I noticed something interesting: whenever I had a histamine reaction, stopping all supplements actually made me feel better. 🤔 That’s when I realized I needed to dive deeper into why those supplements weren’t working for me.

The big reveal came when I did my genomics testing with @3x4genetics! 🧬 It was a game changer, helping me pinpoint exactly what my body really needed for support.

Now, I use that knowledge to help my clients tackle histamine intolerance and more! 💪✨ Want to learn about what supplements could be triggering your symptoms? Check out my blog post on 7 Wellness Boosters that Can Trigger Histamine Intolerance Symptoms! Let's empower each other on this wellness journey! 🌟

Determining whether you have histamine intolerance can be tricky since histamine plays so many roles in our bodies. However, one clear indicator is having environmental allergies, like to grasses—this can point to a tendency toward histamine intolerance. 🌱✨

It’s important to note that you can have problems managing your histamine levels without experiencing typical allergic reactions. This often relates to histamine's involvement in our gut health and neurotransmitters. For example, I experience symptoms like headaches, insomnia, anxiety, and IBS, yet I don’t have any allergies at all.

In my practice, I see a mix of clients—some have allergies while others, without any allergies, still struggle with histamine-related issues. It’s a reminder that histamine’s impact is unique for each of us!

Do you deal with allergies? Let’s talk about it! 💬❤️
